COST EFFECTIVE, MODULAR BIOFILTER

THE APPLICATION: Odors from municipal wastewater pump stations, wet wells and sludge holding tanks release excessive amounts of hydrogen sulfide to the atmosphere. The clients were looking to install high efficient, cost effective abatement systems offering extended service life (five years) with a small footprint.

THE DESIGN: Aquest installed a completely self contained, modular, organic biofilter that provides 99+% odor removal. The unit was supplied “complete” including fan/blower assembly, vessel, interconnecting piping, NEMA control panel and “engineered” filter media. The system offers a modular design with ease of installation. Integral air preheating and humidification are standard offerings on all units. Double wall construction provides an R-30 insulation rating to meet harsh winter applications.

THE IMPLEMENTATION: Aquest provided fully assembled systems that were placed on cement slabs. Pre-fabricated piping kits and all installation hardware were supplied and installed by Aquest technicians, All units were fully operational within 36 hours of delivery.

THE RESULTS: Thirty systems sold and installed throughout the Northeast providing excellent results and exceeding all regulatory requirements. Aquest provided a “turn-key” installation program along with media replacement programs as required. The units shown have exceeded five years of continuous field performance with no documented down time. There have been no community odor complaints recorded at any locations.
